Mia Milgrom is an artist and curator based in Prague. She holds a Master's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and is the co-founder of MIRE, an evolving living laboratory for art, ecology, and theory in the Šumava region. During her studies, she completed study exchanges at The Cooper Union School of Art in New York and at the Visiting Artist Studio at UMPRUM with artist Maja Smrekar. Her work has been exhibited in public space and in galleries, including Fait Gallery, Rudolfinum, the 4th Tbilisi Triennial, The Cooper Union, and GAVU.
Between 2021-2025 she co-curated an independent artist space and gallery in Prague, Garage Gallery.
Her work investigates transitional landscapes as dynamic environments where ecological processes, material transformations, and human histories intersect. Through sculpture and site-responsive installation, she approaches practice as a form of notation: a way of tracing tensions, imbalances, sedimentations, and slow processes of change. Rooted in material experiments, her installations operate at the intersection of the natural and the built, addressing the proximity between supportive (infra)structures and collapse.
